Early and personal life

Mr.Latheef was born in the island of Meedhoo

 in Addu atoll. He married Siyana Shafeeq in 1985, with whom he had a son. In 1990 the couple sought a divorce. The following year he married Aminath Saeed, with whom he had a son and a daughter. Latheef lives with his wife and children in Male'.

In 1994, he joined Television Maldives

as a sports contributor, presenter and political commentator. Latheef was also a weekly commentator on the National radio from 1994 to 2005. Imad resigned from Haveeru in late 2008, now works as the Head of news department in a local television station known as VTV.
