Dwight's sister Chantal was killed in the crossfire during a dispute between two rival gangs. Dwight had pretended to still be paralyzed to avoid getting into trouble as Impulse. Dwight was wracked with guilt that he failed to save his sister due to his inaction.

Powers and abilities

Impulse has enhanced strength, agility, endurance and super human speed. His costume is outfitted with blades on his wrists, which are usually coated with a powerful knock-out drug.
