Indecent Proposal (album)
Encyclopedia
Indecent Proposal is a 2001 album by hip-hop duo Timbaland & Magoo
. The group's second LP (and Timbaland's third, as he issued Tim's Bio: Life from da Bassment
as a solo in 1998), Indecent Proposal takes its name from the 1993 film of the same name
.
The LP was due to have been issued in late 2000 - "Roll Out" was issued as a promo single that fall - but was held over and reworked for a year. Timbaland collaborators Static of Playa
and Mad Skillz do appear. Indecent Proposal includes several tracks featuring Timbaland's latest collaborators, Petey Pablo
and Sebastian
, also Timbaland's brother. Sebastian was one of several artists signed to Timbaland's short-lived Beat Club Records, as was Ms. Jade
, who appears on "In Time". The album also features high-profile guest appearances by Jay-Z
, and Ludacris
, the latter of which had worked with Timbaland prior to becoming famous.
", featuring Fatman Scoop
and the India
n-influenced "All Y'all". The final track on the album, "I am Music", was recorded as a collaboration between Aaliyah
, Static, and rock musician Beck
. However, Timbaland did not include Beck's vocal on the final released master, the final version instead features Timbaland's original demo vocal in Beck's place. By the time the LP was released, Aaliyah
had died in an August 2001 plane crash; the LP is dedicated to her memory.
