Ingo titze

Ingo R. Titze is a Vocal Scientist and Executive Director of the National Center for Voice and Speech
at the University of Utah
in Salt Lake City. He is a Professor at the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Iowa
and is also the author of several written works relating to the human voice.
Dr. Titze graduated with his Ph.D. in Physics from Brigham Young University
in 1972. Prior to that he received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah and then his M.S.E.E. in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Physics from the U of U as well.
Titze started his career in 1963 as a Summer Research Engineer for Argonne National Laboratory
in Arco, Idaho. He then moved on to the National Reactor Test Station in 1965-1966 as Research Engineer at the North American Aviation
in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and from there to the Boeing Company in 1968-1969 as a Research Engineer in Seattle.
He became an Instructor of Physics from 1972-1973 at Brigham Young University. From there he became a Lecturer in Physics & Electrical Engineering at California State Polytechnic University and an Instructor in Physics at Pomona College
from 1973-1974.
He was Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals
, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and then in 1976-1979 he worked as an Assistant Professor for the Sensory Communication Research Laboratory at Gallaudet College.
Titze also was a consultant to the Department of Linguistics/Speech Analysis at Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, a visiting Lecturer at the Department of Hearing/Speech Science at the University of Maryland
and then an Associate Professor for the Department of Speech Pathology & Audiology for the University of Iowa from 1979-1995.
He then moved to a position as Director of Research for the Recording and Research Center at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in 1983-1994. In 1989-1994 Dr. Titze was Adjunct Professor in the Westminster Choir College
at Princeton, New Jersey.
