International Association for Political Science Students
Encyclopedia
The International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS) is a platform for political science students and students interested in political science issues. The Association is international, politically independent, non-profit and student-run, and aims to have global impact in the political science sphere.
Founded in Leiden, The Netherlands in 1998, is composed by 80 Associations, mostly from Europe
and Latin America
. In 2003, it has established a Permanent Seat in Ljubljana

IAPSS represents some 10,000 students of political science worldwide and works in partnership with the International Political Science Association
(IPSA) and other international bodies to develop the study of political science

It is divided in two parts: the Annual Conference, made of seminars, lectures and debates, on a theme regarding Political Science, chosen by the Association Member who organizes AC/GA; and the General Assembly, which discusses and approves guidelines and elects the IAPSS bodies for next year.
Politikon publishes undergraduate and graduate student scholarship from around the world. The peer-review and refereeing process involves academic experts from across the world and abstracts from Politikon are included in the International Political Science Association
’s (IPSA) Annual International Political Science Abstracts.
The magazine is published online each month on the IAPSS website in PDF
format, and through the World Student Press Agency
syndacation.

Structure
The bodies of the Association are:- the General Assembly (GA): composed by all the Association Members, plus the Individual Members and Honorary Members (the two latter without right of vote), it decides the guidelines of the Association, it elects the other Bodies and decides on new Association Members requests of admission;
- the Executive Committee (ExCom): composed by six members of at least three different nationalities (Chairperson, three Vice-Chairpersons, Secretary General and Treasurer) who have the duty to stay at the Permanent Seat, plus up to four "Non-Permanent Residing Members" (NPRM), is the executive body of the Association, it manages IAPSS projects and initiatives, and makes operative all the GA resolutions and decisions;
- the Supervisory Committee (SupCom): composed by three members of different nationalities, monitors the work of ExCom and recommend acceptance or non-acceptance of the ExCom Reports and the request of admission of new members;
- the Disciplinary Committee (DisCom): composed by three members of different nationalities, monitors all the Association Members and all the Bodies to be respectful of the Statute;
- the Editorial Board (EB): composed by eight members, of which seven elected by the General Assembly, it cures the publication of the reviews of the Association.
Annual Conference and General Assembly
The Annual Conference and General Assembly (AC/GA) is the principal event of the Association and is held yearly. It is organized by one of the Association Members, elected from the GA itself.It is divided in two parts: the Annual Conference, made of seminars, lectures and debates, on a theme regarding Political Science, chosen by the Association Member who organizes AC/GA; and the General Assembly, which discusses and approves guidelines and elects the IAPSS bodies for next year.
