IAPA, established in 1994 is the world’s leading trade association
for the Au Pair
industry. It represents trusted organisations specialising in Au Pair and Cultural Exchange services. IAPA has more than 150 member organisations active in 38 countries worldwide.
Member organisations must meet firm business and ethical standards, and agree to abide by IAPA's Code of Conduct
which signifies competence, fair dealing and high integrity.
IAPA supports au pair programmes and cultural exchange opportunities for young people by
-protecting the interests of au pairs and host families through the Association's internationally recognised Codes of Conducts and Guidelines
-promoting the formation of national au pair organizations
- providing information for au pairs and host families
- increasing public awareness of the need to use reputable and established au pair agencies
- assisting the development of au pair programmes in countries where they do not already exist
- issuing the "Au Pair of the Year" award to recognize excellence in au pairing
IAPA is founding sector association of the World Youth Student and Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation
The Winners of this award in recent years have been the 2009 winner Ms Mayumi Yano from Au Pair USA/InterExchange and the runner up Ms Flavie Blin from Cara International, Ireland.
