History
Unlike other business interstate loops in the state, I-95 Business was not the old routing of I-95 but its route was called Temporary I-95 before the new freeway east of Fayetteville was constructed. It and another former I-95 Business to the north were the temporary routes of I-95 before the completion of these final segments. Both were multilane divided highways with heavy commercial retail development targeting through traffic. When the I-95 segments were completed, large signs at the entrance to the routes were erected to promote these businesses that were bypassed by the new freeways.Route description
