Ishibutai has a rectangular chamber measuring 25 ft by 11 ft by 15 ft high approached by a passage 38 ft in length and roofed by two capstones each weighing between 60 and 70 tons. Modern estimates place the largest stone at approximately 75 tons. It consisted of 30 stones. They are about 2,300 t, height about 4.7 m, width about 3.5 m, length about 7.7 m.
It is inferred to be the tomb of Soga no Umako
, quadrangle tomb length over 80 m at first time.
After its construction, it wasn't seen as a big tomb, excluding those of emperors.
