making him only the 6th horse to win the English Triple Crown. That same year, he lost the only race of his career when he finished second in the Lancashire Plate. He was ridden in all his races by Tommy Loates.
At age four, Isinglass was limited to three starts and won all of them. He defeated the previously unbeaten 1894 Derby winner Ladas
in both the Princess of Wales's Stakes
in June and the Eclipse Stakes
in July. Brought back the next year only for the prestigious Ascot Gold Cup
