 among domestic and foreign branchs witch was established in Tehran on 1 August 1982. It started its activities with 6 courses in Bachelor's degree, one course in Associates degree with acceptance 200 students.

Today this branch includes 11 separate and independent faculties that is holding 181 courses and trends in Bachelor's, Master's and Doctorate degrees.

This branch of Islamic Azad University is using 157000 m² teaching space including 3 university complexes, 58 laboratories, 56 workshops, 3 language-labs, one sport complex, 12 libraries, information center and digital library.

Central Tehran Branch with about 40 thousand students, more than 1000 academic staffs and 950 employees is one of the largest higher education complex in Iran.
