During the formation of the town, some of the influential people of this area had contributed a lot by gifting their lands. Like the family of MLA (Member of Legislative Assembley) Abdul Karim Choudhury (Yousuf Choudhury) had gifted the land for Islampur High School and many such examples are there. Islmapur High School and Islampur Girls High School are among the assets of Islampur town.

One of the famous schools in northern Bengal, the Scholar is on the outskirt of the town. The school was established in 2000 and is affiliated to I.C.S.E.
