He was waived during the 2007 pre-season as the Crew sought to become roster-compliant.
Having been unable to secure a spot with a professional team during 2007 or 2008, Becerra signed for Ventura County Fusion
of the USL Premier Development League
for the 2009 season. He made his debut for the team on May 30, 2009, in a game against Bakersfield Brigade
, and scored one of Fusion's goals during their victory in the 2009 PDL Championship.
At the end of the PDL season, Becerra signed for the Portland Timbers., and played 1 regular season game before being released on December 7, 2009.
After returning to Ventura County Fusion
for 2010, Becerra signed with Wilmington Hammerheads
of the new third division USL Pro
League on March 2, 2011.
