Dame Ivy Leona Dumont, DCMG
(born October 2, 1930) was the sixth Governor-General of the Bahamas
. She was a Bahamian hero.
She was the first woman in the Bahamas to hold this office, from January 1, 2002 (on an acting basis since November 13, 2001) until November 30, 2005. She previously served as Education Minister from 1995 to 2001.
