for his country. His batting was poor - in nineteen visits to the crease in his twelve matches, he never once attained double figures - but his bowling was useful for the time. Three times he took five wickets in an innings, once per season from 1921/22 to 1923/24, his best being 6 for 49 at Johannesburg
