in December 1923. As well as three catches in Border’s first innings, Buys took a further three wickets in their second, this being the closest he came to a 10-wicket haul in a match. His sole Test was the first of the series, played at Johannesburg, on England’s 1922/23 tour. He scored 0 and 4 not out with the bat and failed to take a wicket with the ball.
