JK Viljandi Tulevik
Encyclopedia
Viljandi Tulevik is an Estonia
n football
club, playing in the town of Viljandi
.
The club was originally founded in 1912. They play their home games at Viljandi linnastaadion. Tulevik was not a fully independent club, but rather a part of FC Flora's
system in 1992-2010. In 2011 they decided to reach Meistriliiga
independently and were moved to II liiga.
Season 2006 was very disappointing for the club, as they finished second to last and had to play promotion/relegation play-offs. The games against JK Kalev Tallinn were close, but Tulevik eventually lost on away goals. Tulevik was not relegated though, as JK Maag and Tammeka merged, leaving a Meistriliiga
spot vacant.
Tulevik played in two successive Estonian Cup
finals in 1999 and 2000, losing to Levadia 2–3 and 0–2 respectively.
