'J C Slaughter Falls is one of two sources of Ithaca Creek
in Mt Coot-tha Forest ark. There is a picnic area and parking area. The Mt Coot-tha summit track travels from the J.C. Slaughter Falls Picnic Area travels through open eucalypt forest. The grade is steep over short sections. Mt Coot-tha Lookout offers sweeping views of the city, Moreton Bay, Stradbroke Islands and the southern ranges. The track is classified as an easy walk and takes about one hour and is 3.8 kilometres return in distance.Mt Coot-tha Forest is located five kilometres west of Brisbane Central Business Distrcit. Access is via Sir Samuel Griffith Drive or Gap Creek Road, Mt Coot-tha.
