to the Fifty-third
Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of John A. Caldwell.
He was reelected to the Fifty-fourth
and to the three succeeding Congresses and served from December 3, 1894, to March 3, 1903.
He was not a candidate for renomination in 1902.
He resumed the practice of law in Cincinnati.
He served as judge of the court of common pleas
of Hamilton County 1907-1913.
He declined to be a candidate for renomination.
He again engaged in the practice of law.
