In 1959, the Lohner factory merged with Rotax

 and began to produce motorscooters, the most well-known of which was the Lohner L125. It also produced the Bombardier Ski-Doo under licence until 1970, when Bombardier purchased a majority of shares in the company and renamed it Bombardier-Rotax GmbH.

Reorganized later as a division of Bombardier-Rotax named Bombardier Wien Schienenfahrzeuge (BWS), the factory continues to produce trams in the 21st Century for both domestic and export use.
