on November 30, 2010, Novak was announced as one of the rookies for the fourth season of WWE NXT, with his WWE Pro being Dolph Ziggler. Novak would make his debut on the December 7 episode of WWE NXT in a losing effort against Johnny Curtis
. In a rematch on the December 21 episode of WWE NXT, Novak defeated Curtis. On the January 4, 2011, episode of WWE NXT, Ziggler would win a WWE Pro Over-the-Top-Rope Challenge, where he had the chose to trade his rookie. Ziggler would trade Novak for Byron Saxton, making Novak's new WWE Pro being Chris Masters
. Novak would then face Saxton in a losing effort. That same night, Novak was the first person eliminated from the show. Novak would return for the season finale on the March 1 episode of WWE NXT, were he teamed with Byron Saxton in a losing effort against Derrick Bateman
and Conor O'Brian.
A week later, Novak was announced as one of the six returning rookies for the fifth season of WWE NXT, which was known as NXT Redemption, with Novak's WWE Pro being JTG. Novak would have his first match on the same night, in a losing effort against Darren Young. On the April 12 episode of WWE NXT, Novak debuted a new look that resembled what his Pro, JTG, would wear. Novak and JTG would then start a feud with William Regal, where, on the May 10 episode of WWE NXT, Novak was defeated by Regal. A week later, on the May 17 episode of WWE NXT, Novak was once again the first person eliminated from the show.
Novak was subsequently released from WWE on June 13, 2011.
