Lately, starting from the 1980s, Jagtial is slowly becoming a hub for healthcare. It now boasts a no of doctors and hospitals, which can provide adequate health care.
Buses form another mode of transportation. Autos are commonly used in the town. Railway track between Karimnagar and Jagitial was opened in December 2007. New colony named Housing board established in Daroor Camp, Jagtial. Andhrapradesh Housing board constructed nearly 3000 houses which include LIG, MIG, and HIG. Now Government is thinking to shift all government offices to Dharoor camp. This may be expected by end of 2012.
Crime rate in Jagityal is low since decades, hence one of the safest city in the state.

There is also a sweet maker famous for Jilebi. The sweet stall is well know by the Jagtial people by the name of the owner Peer Mohammed. ( Peer Mohammed ki jilebi). And there is a small tea stall owner name Hassan. He is very famous for tea.
Jagtial has the 2nd biggest market for mangoes in Andhra Pradesh.
There is an Engineering college Dr. VRK, which is a Muslim minority college. It is situated 7 km distance from town on the main road to Karimnagar.
Agriculture college situated 8 km from the city is one of the best in the state.
There is a historical sign located in the heart of the town named clock tower. It was built in earlier of 18th century by Nizam's minister Khasim Razvi. The tower has four big clocks on each of its four faces. It is still functioning.

The economy of Jagtial is purely based on the commercial and retail consumer business. The town is known as a shopping center for the surrounding villages and towns. Majority of the trading community conduct business related to groceries, clothes, pharmaceuticals, iron and hardware.Farmers from the surrounding villages sell their crops and vegetables in the Jagtial market.

Transport
With the opening of Jagtial–Karimnagar new BG railway line (nearly 49 km), Jagtial got a place on the Indian railway network. A daily passenger train from Jagtial to Sirpur Kaghaznagar is being run from 26 December, 2007. When the Jagtial–Nizamabad (nearly 92 km) new railway line is completed, the Peddapalli-Karimnagar-Jagital-Nizamabad railway line will connect two major south-north trunk railway lines (Kazipet-Nagpur and Secunderabad-Puna-Akola-Khandwa railway lines). Other information
The Jagtial name came by the Two French Engineers. Their names are Jack and Tal, they two designed and build the fort which is located in Jagtial near to Jama Masjid, Jack & Tal whose names combine to form the name 'Jagtial'. The fort was built by the Moghal Emperor, the king's name was Ibrahim Dhamsa. The aerial view of the fort is like a star, inside the fort there are cannons to defend the enemies, on the cannons a name is written in Urdu, Mohammed Khasim. The history of Jagtial is script on a board which is near to the principal office of SKNR Degree college.
