Jake initially resents Mickey for surviving the same attack, but grows to accept and respect him after Mickey shows considerable courage and resourcefulness by destroying the transmitter that was keeping every human wearing an EarPod under hypnotic control and then cracking the Cybermen's emotional inhibitor code.
Jake returned in "Doomsday
", where he, Mickey, Pete Tyler and others found a way through a breach between the two Earths, using technology developed by their world's version of the Torchwood Institute
. He aided in the battle against the Dalek
