, where they lived in its capital of Shiraz
. It is not clear what affiliation they had with the Zand Tribe
(another older Laki speaking tribe) which resided in Shiraz at the time, many elder Jalilavandi people believe that they were part of the Zand people and were branched off during the conflicts after the death of Karim Khan
(the chief of the Zand tribe and leader of the Zand dynasty) for his succession, but other Jalilavandis say that, they were not part of the Zand people but instead they were their own people who helped Karim Khan Zand in his many battles. Either story could be true because the Jalilvandis currently reside in Koohdasht were many Zand people reside, but yet through family trees and connections the Zand and Jalilavandi people come from different families with few or no ties to each other because of the Laki traditional habit of marrying cousins, and they are both originated from Shiraz during the Zand dynasty. However, what is clear is that the tribe and other Lak speaking tribes were displaced from battles and conflicts and later displaced by Shah Abbas
and settlement issues.

Misconceptions
- Many researchers believe that the Jalilavand people came from Qazvin in 1902 era. But native Laki people know that most "Vand" (sometimes pronounced "Wend") tribes have either Laki or Luri roots. Which means that they could not have been originally from Qazvin, the Jalilavandi population in Qazvin is slim, only one family residing in a Laki speaking area of Qazvin's villages. Laki people were displaced many times, which is why Iran has Laki speaking Villages in multiple province that are not originally Laki or Luri speaking.
- Another misconception is that the Jalilavand tribe originated in the Sanjabi people, but the Sanjabi people originated in Kermanshah and are not of Laki roots. The Jalilavandi people do not speak Sanjabi Kurdish dialect, they speak with a southern Kurdish Laki dialect. Also the Jalilavand tribe was originated in Shiraz not Kermanshah.
- Also Jalilavandi people are not Shiite Muslims though some might have converted, they are mainly and originally YarsansAhl-e HaqqThe Ahl-e Haqq or Yârsân , are members of a religion founded by Sultan Sahak in the late 14th century in western Iran. The total number of members is estimated at around 1,000,000, primarily found in western Iran and Iraq, mostly ethnic Kurds and Laks, though there are also smaller groups of Luri,...
(or in their own language, Ahl-e Haqq). Many Laki people are Yarsans.
- And, even many people who are from Kermanshah think that the Jalilavand tribe is the same tribe as the Jalalavand tribe (which is another Laki speaking tribe that resides specifically in the city and village areas of Eslam Abad a city in the Kermanshah Province, and but very few in other areas like Ilam and Lorestan. Either way they are not the same tribe as the Jalilavand tribe.
