The founders of this Cadre based organization include eminent Islamic Thinkers and Scholars like Molana Ghulam Ahmad Ahrar, Molana Saad-ud-Din Tarabali, Qari Saif-ud-Di, Molana Hakim Gulam Nabi, Molana Suliman Sahib, Sayed Ali Shah Geelani etc. They formed the nucleus around which grew the Islamic movement in the valley of Kashmir based on a definite doctrine in sync with socio-cultural essence of Islam

Although the common folk within the Islamic fold in J & K, held strongly to the basics-belief in one God and the Islamic prophet Mohammad and the message enshrined in the Quran, religiosity was limited to traditional prayer and the rituals associated with religion. It was through their undaunted patience while preaching the true essence of Islamic teachings that lead to the rejuvenation of Islamic thought back in J & K.
