Batting at number eleven, Fellowes was also top scorer with 18 in Hampshire's first innings total of 74 and remained unbeaten on seven when Hampshires second innings was wrapped up for 82, with Hampshire losing the match by an innings and 113 runs. Fellowes represented Hampshire in eleven first-class matches, the last of which came against Kent in 1885, which was to be Hampshire's final season with first-class status until the 1895 County Championship
