James "Jimmy" Keinhorst is a German
international rugby union
player, playing for the Otley R.U.F.C.
in the National League 1
and the German national rugby union team
. He has also played for the German national rugby league team
in the past.
Keinhorst moved from Otley R.U.F.C. at the age of 19 to German club Heidelberger RK
for a season, winning the national championship in 2009-10. He is the youngest of four rugby-playing brothers and qualifies to play for Germany through his German father Wolfgang who has lived in the United Kingdom for many years. He and his three brothers, Kristian, Markus, Nicholas set a world record in 2007, when they played a rugby league international for Germany against Czech Republic, becoming the most siblings to play in a rugby league international match. He has since returned to Otley R.U.F.C., playing the 2010-11 season there.
He made his debut for Germany in an ENC match against Poland on 20 November 2010. Keinhorst scored his first try for Germany a week later, against the Netherlands in Amsterdam.
He has been playing rugby since 2004.
James Keinhorst is also, as of 2010, the top try and point scorer for the German national rugby league team, having scored 11 tries and 68 points for the team so far in sevene games.
