and graduated in 2005.
McNamara was recruited from East Fremantle
with the 16th pick in the 2006 rookie draft
, receiving the number 45 jersey. He changed to the number 12 at the start of the 2008 season.

This came as a surprise to many football followers as McNamara had shown great promise considering the limited opportunity he was presented with.
