Career

Keizer's musical career began with Empty Hearts (sometimes known as Empty) as a drum player. Two years later, Thomas Tol, the guitar player, left the band, bringing the band to an end. However, Keizer renamed the band the Q-Tips, a close harmony band, where he sang alongside Lida Bond, and later George Baker Selection. In 1974, Jan joined BZN, where he took over from Jaap Sombroek, who previously was a drum player in the band. On 17 October of that same year, the band's lead singer, Jan Veerman, left the band and was replaced by Keizer.

In 2007, he disbanded BZN. In 2008, he released another solo album Give me your smile. His sixth solo album Chords of Life was released in 2009.
