Golob has composed operas, ballets, orchestral works, chamber and vocal music, as well as numerous Slovenian film scores and music for advertising purposes.
His internationally best-known piece of work is the "Slow Motion Theme" (1997), played in replay ski jumps for the Planica annual FIS Ski Jumping World Cup competition.
His other hit songs are "Prisluhni školjki" (1985), "(Slovenija) Moja dežela" (1986) and "Pustite nam ta svet" (1987), popular specially in Slovenia
