. Its leaders included former foreign minister Mamoru Shigemitsu
and future Prime Minister Nobusuke Kishi
. The party was formed on November 24, 1954, by merging Ichiro Hatoyama
's group which left Liberal Party
in 1953, and Shigemitsu-led Kaishinto party. On November 15, 1955, Japan Democratic Party merged with the Liberal Party to form Liberal Democratic Party
