Jarod James Palmer is an American

with a one-year entry-level contract as a free agent. In high school, Palmer played for the U.S. National Under-18 Team winning the silver medal at the World Under-18 Championship in 2004. After graduating high school in Ann Arbor, MI, he spent two seasons playing in the United States Hockey League (USHL) for the Tri-City Storm
in Kearney, Nebraska. Palmer then completed four collegiate years for the Miami University
Redhawks in Oxford, Ohio. Palmer plays as a forward.
from 2002–2004, appearing in 108 games. His greatest individual honor came in the 2004 World Championship semi final game versus Czech Republic where Palmer won player of the game honors. Later, his team went on to win the silver medal at the World Under-18 Championship in Belarus.
After two years within the Team USA program, Palmer left to join the Tri-City Storm
from 2004–2006 and appeared in 110 games. In his first year with the Storm, Palmer had 41 points with 15 goals and 26 assists. In his second year, he finished with 53 points, scoring 15 goals and 37 assists. He holds the record for fastest goal to start a game at nine seconds into the game. He also held the position as Team Captain in his second season.
from 2006–2010 and appeared in all 169 Redhawk games during his career, setting the school record. He appeared in two NCAA Frozen Four Championship games in his junior and senior years. In his freshman season in 2006-07 he played in all 42 games posting 30 points with 11 goals and 19 assists in the season. He was named CCHA Rookie of the Week on Dec. 12 and was awarded Miami’s Rookie of the Year Award.
In the 2007-08 season, he played in all 42 games producing 35 points with 10 goals and 25 assists. He was again honored with a CCHA Offensive Player of the Week award. In his junior season in 2008-09, he appeared in all Redhawk games including the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four Championship games. He tallied 27 points with eight goals and 19 assists.
Following the perilously close loss in the Championships in 2009, Palmer returned for his senior year in 2009-10 and again played in all 44 games. He led the team with 45 points to be selected to the CCHA First All-Star Team and was the two-time league Player of the Week.
