History
Jason Lee Middle School opened its doors to the public in September 1965. The first year had 812 students in attendance and 34 staff members. The school was named after the notable missionary and pioneer Jason LeeJason Lee (missionary)

Jason Lee Middle School has 50 teachers serving approximately 850 students. Students at Jason Lee have diverse backgrounds and economic status. In the 2007-2008 school year 60% of all students receive free or reduced price lunches. 27.6% of the students are in Jason Lee's ELL (English Language Learning) program and 14.2% are in Special Education. Jason Lee Middle School is the only Middle School in Vancouver School District with an ELL (English Language Learning) program.Like many High Schools and some other Middle Schools, Jason Lee has its own student-run program for announce and notifications, typically broadcasted internally at the beginning of the school day. Students act as the newscasters, and help behind the scenes.
