 on August 20, 1965. There, as he was a teenager, he created his own rap band. He came to Germany for his military duty in 1989. He left the army in 1991 to proceed with his music career.

When Jay and Tania left Culture Beat for solo careers in 1997, Jay started to work with Rappers Against Racism where he was featured on their two hits "Sorry" and "Hiroshima (Fly Little Bird)". In the summer of 2000 he also released his only solo single so far, "Your Love (Encore)" together with Cheryll Lynn. The song got a lot of airplay on the European hip-hop/R&B radio stations. Right now he is living in the Netherlands.
