Jeremy N. Kalin is Minnesota
politician and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives
who represented District 17B, which includes portions of Chisago County just north of the Twin Cities
metropolitan area. A Democrat
, he has also been a designer and draftsman for Natural Spaces Domes since 2004. On March 2, 2010, he announced that he would not seek a third term.
Kalin was first elected in 2006, and was re-elected in 2008. He was a member of the House
State and Local Government Operations Reform, Technology and Elections Committee, and also served on the Finance subcommittees for the Energy Finance and Policy Division and the State Government Finance Division, and on the State and Local Government Operations Reform, Technology and Elections Subcommittee for the Local Government Division.
Kalin graduated from South High School in Minneapolis
, then went on to the University of Minnesota
, receiving his B.F.A.
in Ceramics in 1999. He attended graduate school for Architecture and Planning from 2001-2003 at the University of New Mexico

. He was the sole proprietor of JNK Studio from 1995–2004, and also taught at Watershed High School in Minneapolis from 1996-2000.
Active in his community, Kalin is a former Chisago County representative to the East Central Regional Development Commission. He served as vice chair of the commission in 2006. He was a member of Concerned River Valley Citizens from 1997–2001, a member of the Chisago County Gateway Task Force from 2003–2004, a member of the East Central Regional Arts Council from 2005–2006, and a member of the League of Women Voters
since 2003.
