), is the youngest child of George Lascelles, 7th Earl of Harewood
and his first wife, Marion Stein
who later married Jeremy Thorpe. He is a great-grandson of George V
, so he is a second cousin to the Prince of Wales
and is 51st in line to inherit the British throne. He does not use the courtesy style of The Honourable
to which he is entitled as the son of an earl.

He is known for his ambivalence to being born into the Royal Family (his godmother was Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother). He is on the shortlist for the 2010 Orange Business Person of the Year. He is also a lifelong Leeds United supporter as is his son Thomas.
