During his senior year, Davidson experienced much sorrow when his girlfriend and fellow student at Alabama Nicole Murphy died in a car accident on November 12, 2006. Davidson and Murphy were driving to an Atlanta hospital to visit Davidson's brother, Dewayne Watkins, who had suffered critical injuries from a gunshot. Murphy, who was driving the vehicle, lost control of the car and was ejected in the ensuing crash. She died the following morning. Davidson suffered no serious injuries in the accident.
Davidson went through even more personal tragedy when his brother, Dewayne Watkins, died of his critical injuries suffered on December 20, 2006. The news came shortly after the Crimson Tide's win over NC State.

After putting up disappointing numbers in the 2009 NBA Summer League
, the Warriors waived Davidson on July 27, 2009.
He signed a contract with the Turkish Basketball League team Darüşşafaka Cooper Tires on October 1, 2009 and lead the Turkish league in rebounding that season averaging 15.9 points and 10.7 rebounds.
On May 16, 2010, he signed a contract in Puerto Rico
with Caciques de Humacao
from the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) league.
In August 2011 he signed a one-year deal with Skyliners Frankfurt in Germany
