. He also played football and ran track at Loras. After college, he was actively devoted to the game of rugby and martial arts, but soon began a bodybuilding career. After his debut in 1994, attended the above twenty-four competitions, including Musclemania and the Team Universe. In 2000, at the NPC Los Angeles Championships he was placed at third position as a drug free competitor in a non-tested competition. On June 19, 2004, during the NPC Junior National Championships, he took fourteenth place.

In the summer of 2010, Jim was interviewed by freelance writer Rod Labbe for Men's Workout magazine. The interview is scheduled to see print in the November 2010 issue, on sale in August.
