. In 1951 Finn was only twenty years old when he was appointed captain of the Tipperary senior hurling team. That year he guided his team to another Munster final victory over Cork and another All-Ireland final victory, giving Finn his second set of provincial and All-Ireland medals.

Cork dominated the Munster Championship for the next three years, however, Finn won a second National League medal in 1952. Three more league titles came his way in quick succession in 1954 (as captain), 1955 and 1957. In 1958 Finn won his third Munster title. This was later converted into his third All-Ireland medal following a victory over Galway

. The following year he won a sixth National League medal, however, Tipp lost their Munster crown. Finn retired from inter-county hurling shortly afterwards, having also won Railway Cup medals with Munster
