after the attainder of her father and the forfeiture of the barony. They remained childless, so the barony was inherited by her 1st cousin, Christopher Willoughby, of Parham. Christopher was the Eldest surviving son of Joan's Father Richard De Welles younger Sister Cecily De Welles who happened to have married Robert Willoughby from another branch of the Willoughby Family
