Jobat State is a formerly princely state
of India, administratively under the Bhopawar Agency
subdivision of the Central India Agency
. The state covered an area of 339 square kilometres in 1901. Its Hindu rulers were styled “Rana
”, and as succession was in the female line.
The principality was founded in the 15th century by the Rathore dynasty. After Indian independence in 1947, the rulers of Jobat acceded to the Union of India, and the principality was incorporated into the new state of Madhya Bharat
, which subsequently became Madhya Pradesh
