Jochen Alexander Freydank is a German film director
. He was born in 1967 in East-Berlin. After the fall of the Berlin wall he started his film career as an editor. He then worked as first assistant director for film and TV. Jochen Alexander Freydank wrote screenplays for TV-series and movies. In 1999 he founded his own production company Mephisto Film. He worked as a producer for German TV, produced one of Germans most successful TV series. His directing career includes theatre, award winning short films and commercials. Freydanks films had been internationally recognized and won awards at various film festivals. His film Toyland won the Academy Award (OSCAR) for best live action short film in 2009. Freydank is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
