Early Life and Family

Joe Jacquot was born in Jacksonville, Florida

. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in Political and Social Thought and graduated from the University of Florida College of Law. Jacquot worked for U.S. Senator Connie Mack prior to attending law school, and then returned as an attorney on Capitol Hill (see below). Jacquot served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Joe Jacquot is married to Shannon Jacquot. They have three children.

Jacquot then served as the Deputy Chief Counsel for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee working on a number of legislative items and judicial confirmations, including serving as lead counsel for the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006. His work on Capitol Hill is featured in the HBO special How Democracy Works. Joe Jacquot authored an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal on immigration reform found.

 appointed Jacquot Deputy Attorney General and Chief of Staff. He is the lead strategic counsel for Florida v. U.S. Health and Human Services, in which 20 states are challenging the constitutionality of the federal health care act. In July 2010, Jacquot testified on the litigation to the U.S. House Republican Conference Health Solutions Committee. Jacquot chaired the Sunshine Technology Team to explore the application of public records law to technology in state agencies.

Joe Jacquot is an adjunct professor at Florida State University College of Law for his class, Federal Legislative Practice.

Lender Processing Services

In mid-May 2011, Jacquot was named senior vice president of Lender Processing Services, a firm that was at the time and currently is under investigation by the Florida Attorney General's Office for improper mortgage

practices. According to the Florida Attorney General's Office, Lender Processing Services and nine other firms are still under investigation for alleged improper mortgage practices. The office also noted that Jacquot was a holdover from the administration of former Attorney General Bill McCollum.
