Joe Lucas

Joseph P. Lucas is an American professional baseball player. He currently plays in the Atlanta Braves minor league system as a closing pitcher.
Joe was raised in Jordan, Minnesota and attended Jordan High School, playing baseball, football, and basketball. He played college ball for the DCTC Blue Knights and is currently in the Blue Knights Hall of Fame. In his final season with the Blue Knights he batted .440 with 15 doubles, 8 triples, 9 home runs and 63 RBI's. He also went 17 for 17 in stolen bases and scored 67 runs.
Joe began his professional baseball career after being drafted by the Atlanta Braves and sent to the Gulf Coast League Braves, a rookie-level team. After a successful short season with the GCL Braves Joe was called up to the Danville Braves where once again he had a successful season. After the success at Danville he was called up to the final few games of the Rome Braves playoffs.
