 on January 23, 2008. He wrestled for a high school in Cleveland,Ohio and placed sixth in the state his senior year. Veres was a three time academic All-American wrestler at Ashland University. When he lived in Columbus,Ohio he worked for Columbus Public Schools as a computers instructor and was an assistant wrestling coach at Dublin Jerome High School for two years. Prior to the UFC, Veres only suffered one loss. He currently lives in Arizona and is married for the second time and has four children with two pets, Tyson Veres (dog), and B.J. Hedger (chimpanzee). When he lived in Ohio he trained Jessie Dong of Westerville North who won a state championship his senior year. Now Joe Veres is principal at Desert Wind Middle School located in Maricopa,Arizona.
