Personal Life

Joseph (Joe) Walsh was born into a family of Cardiff fans, his dad, Kevin, a fanatic rugby player not quite making it at international level who was also a great sprinter, once holding the welsh school boy record has held a season ticket for Cardiff City FC for over ten years and Joe himself used to accompany him with this. Today his dad still has said season ticket but now attends with Joe's sister Sinead Walsh. Joe's long term girlfriend, Rhiannon Williams, is also affiliated with Cardiff City, being a member of the ticket staff with her dad as a manager. Joe also is said to still go to his boyhood club matches when he can, and attended the play-off semi final defeat to Reading before seeing his Swansea side clinch the final at Wembley.

Career

A left-back who can also play in central defence, Walsh joined Swansea as an under-16 player after previously playing for Cardiff College Celts. In his first season he helped the Swans to FAW Youth Cup glory against his hometown club, Cardiff City
