Johan Syrstad is a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party
.
He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Sør-Trøndelag
in 1977, and was re-elected on one occasion. He had previously served as a deputy representative during the terms 1961–1965, 1965–1969, 1969–1973 and 1973–1977. From 1968 to 1971 he moved up as a regular representative, filling in for Per Borten

. From 1972 to 1973 he filled in for Einar Hole Moxnes who was appointed to the cabinet Korvald.
On the local level he was a member of Meldal
municipal council from 1955 to 1975. He chaired the county party chapter from 1960 to 1966.
Outside of politics he was a farmer, and directed the local savings bank from 1983 to 1991. He was active in the Norwegian Agrarian Association
