Guyer's football team has made the state semi-finals in the 08-09 and 09-10 school year in 4A highschool football and made 5A state in the 10–11 school year.
Guyer is also home to the 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 Texas power boat racing state champions Rance Schindler and Chris Weeks.
Guyer Theatre placed second at the 4A State UIL One Act Play competition in 2009 with Peter Shaffer's Amadeus.
