In March 1992, Abeles founded Northlea Partners Ltd., a venture and private capital, family partnership headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, which holds numerous investments primarily in the healthcare industry
Abeles has been a director of Oryx Technology and served as Chairman of its board of directors from October 1993 until April 1997. During this time the company's stock price dropped from $30/share to $12.50/share. He has also served on the board of directors of I-Flow Corporation (recently acquired by Kimberly-Clark
