John Harris was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons

Harris was the son of Arthur Harris of Hayne, Devon and Kenegie, Gulval, Cornwall and his wife Margaret Davilles daughter of John Davilles of Marland. He matriculated at Exeter College, Oxford
on 18 March 1603, aged 17 and was admitted at Lincoln's Inn
on 10 February 1607 being of Devon.
In April 1640, Harris was elected Member of Parliament
for Bere Alston

Harris died at Hayne at the age of 70 and was buried at Lifton, Devon where there is an incised brass.
