John Holden

The Rt. Rev. John Holden was a missionary of the Anglican Church.
He was ordained in 1907 and went to work for the CMS
in China, rising in time to be an Archdeacon
. In 1923 he became Bishop of Kwangsi-Hunan and was translated
to Szechwan in 1933. Returning to England
in 1938 he became Vicar
of St Budock and Archdeacon of Cornwall. 6 years later he became a Residentiary Canon
at Truro Cathedral
and in 1947 he resigned as Archdeacon. He died on 14 August 1949.
