John Lee (New South Wales)

John Lee is a senior Australian bureaucrat, former head of the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet and former Rugby League
coach.
On graduating from De La Salle College (Cronulla, NSW)
in 1981, Lee trained as a physical education teacher at the University of Wollongong
before working as a trainer for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks under Jack Gibson
. Lee then worked in various positions in the NSW Public Service including CEO of the State Transit Authority of NSW and Director-General of the Ministry of Transport.
In October 2008 Lee was appointed Director-general of the Department of Premier and Cabinet under a five year contract.

Lee was ousted from this appointment just fourteen months into the five year contract by incoming Premier Kristina Keneally
